Citizens of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea

Citizens of Equatorial Guinea who are located in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize and El Salvador will have to register with the Consular Registry of one of the following Diplomatic Missions depending on their proximity.

  1. Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Washington, D.C.

  2. Consulate General of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Houston, Texas.

To register, they must complete the electronic form of the Consular Registry, providing all necessary information. The consular register allowed citizens of Equatorial Guinea to apply for consular assistance to the diplomatic representations of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea abroad.

As of January 2, 2016, the following documents;

  • Birth certificate

  • Marriage certificate

  • Death certificate

  • Academic Certificates and Diplomas

  • Other similar documents

issued by the authorities of the respective countries of current residence,must be certified at this Embassy or the Houston Consulate in order for them to be valid within Equatorial Guinea and to take appropriate effect there.

This embassy does not provide passport renewal or extension services

Application for Laissez-passer

For Equatorial Guinean citizens with expired or lost passports, they can request a laissez-passer for their return to Equatorial Guinea

Application for visa

In order to enter Equatorial Guinean territory, holders of passports not issued by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea must present a Visa or a valid same-range document issued by the competent authority.

U.S. citizens do not require a Visa to enter Equatorial Guinea, however, if they are planning to stay for more than ninety (90) consecutive days, they are required to apply for and purchase a Residence or Work Permit once they are in the country.

Requirements

  • An original passport valid at least for the next 6 months. 

  • Travel documents are not accepted 

  • Two application forms duly filled out and signed. A passport photo is to accompany each form. 

  • An entry Authorization letter into Equatorial Guinea issued by the E.G. Ministry of National Security 

  • An invitation letter into Equatorial Guinea issued either by the Government, a private entity, or a private individual 

  • If traveling on tourism, a bank statement or equivalent confirming the amount of at least 

  • $2,000.00 to cover expenses for each month he/she will spend in Equatorial Guinea. 

  • If traveling on business, a letter issued by the applicant's employer explaining purpose of the trip and undertaking the applicant’s expenses. 

  • A police clearance not older than 3 months issued by a police department in the city where the applicant currently resides stating that he/she has not been convicted of any major crimes. 

  • Immunization record booklet 

  • Flight itinerary and proof of accommodation arrangements 

Payments can be in form of cash (U.S.D.), money order or company checks issued only in the United States, and should be made payable to the Embassy of Equatorial Guinea.

A paid return envelope should be included with the application (FedEx, DHL, UPS...)
