We suggest you start the application process for a new passport at least 6 months before your current passport expires to avoid lengthy waiting times since this process might take some time.

If any question arouses, please make sure to contact the Consular Section by emailing us at Washington@cnedoge.gq and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AND MY APPOINTMENT?

DURING APPOINTMENT:

After completing your application and receiving an appointment date, you will need to come IN PERSON to Washington D.C.

During your appointment, the consular section clerical staff will take your fingerprints, signature and passport photos, as well as verify all of your documents, so you MUST present all original copies of your documents.

Remember the dress code for your passport photo. Try not to wear overly revealing clothing that may expose your shoulders and avoid V-neck shirts and low-cut necklines.

Additionally, you will need to bring a payment to cover the $50 consular identification card fee to your appointment.

AFTER APPOINTMENT:

When everything is completed, all you have to do is patiently wait. When your new passport arrives here at the Embassy, we will get in touch with you to make shipping or pick-up arrangements. Shipping costs will be covered by the applicant.
