Dear compatriots and friends of Equatorial Guinea,

It is a pleasure to cordially welcome you to the website of our Embassy in the United States of America, Washington DC.

During my previous position as Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia and Representative of the Permanent Mission to the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, I had the opportunity to review the bilateral framework of our country with a large part of the East African countries, as well as the multilateral context. As in my previous missions to Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania and to the Rome-based agricultural agencies of the United Nations System, I was able to see time and again how much Equatorial Guinea is appreciated in many parts of the world, as well as the appreciation of its economic emergence, its exemplary democracy, our neutral foreign policy and our humanitarian tradition.

I would like to emphasize that bilateral relations between Equatorial Guinea and the United States of America are excellent. And we maintain the firm conviction to improve, optimize and strengthen them every day. Of course, Equatorial Guinea considers the United States of America as a reliable and strategic partner, and within the framework of the new perspectives, we are betting that cooperation will go beyond hydrocarbons, such as agribusiness, livestock, fisheries, tourism, environmental protection, education and services, among others. These sectors are the priority of my mission, which began on October 19, 2023.

I am also pleased to be able to intensify cooperation with strong American institutions such as USAID, the twinning of Drexel University with the National University of Equatorial Guinea, as well as the partnership between Boston University and the Afro-American University of Central Africa located in the city of Djibloho, among others to promote scientific and educational cooperation and sustainable management of national forest ecosystems.

Dear readers, Equatorial Guinea is not only synonymous with nature, forests, sea, rich and diverse cuisine, but it is also an active and committed member of the international community of States, peace-loving and with the prospect of extending its cooperation with the United States for the diversification of its economy.

I reiterate to all of you my predisposition, as well as that of the Embassy team, to listen to your suggestions and provide good diplomatic and consular service, thus facilitating a strengthening of the presence of Equatorial Guinea in the United States of America and reinforcing the already excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between our two friendly nations.
